Dispelling Fear – David and Goliath
1 Samuel 17

At Church in the Park, we all shared our thoughts from the story of David and Goliath. 

1. Synonyms for fear:
Scare
Panic
Anxiety

There are various expressions of fear.  Fear is not from God.  The enemy tries to steal away our victories by inflicting fear in our hearts. 

2. Why were the Israelites afraid of Goliath:
His stature
His armour
His threatening words

The enemy always tries to display the challenges we face as much bigger and stronger than they really are. 

3. Why wasn’t David afraid of Goliath:
He knew that God is greater than Goliath
He trusted in God’s power
He remembered his past victories

We pray for deliverance from every form of fear. Our Lord is always by our side to give us victory over all our challenges.  Amen!
