Sunday Sermon Summary – Mar 15 2026
INSIGHT
Receiving Divine Guidance
John 9: 1 – 11
This scripture passage tells us how Jesus healed a person who was born blind in a unique way. Jesus spat on the ground, made clay, applied it on the blind man’s eyes and asked him to go and wash in the pool called Bethesda. He did as Jesus had commanded and received his sight.
1. Physical Sight
Obedience John 9:7
The Lord did something that may look intimidating. He applied clay made with His spit and asked him to wash at Siloam. The man was willing to obey; the result – he received sight. Our Lord can do things that medicine cannot do. Our Lord can do more than we can ask or imagine. Our Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever. It is we who fail to exercise faith. We make weak use of God’s power. That day our Lord performed a miracle that was never heard of before. A person who was born blind received sight. Our Lord will perform what He has never done before for you. We must be willing to obey Him in every step.
2. Logical Sight
Courage John 9: 32
When people saw that he received sight they were surprised. Some Pharisees started interrogating him. They tried to persuade him to confess that Jesus was a sinner because He healed the man on a Sabbath. They even called for his parents and enquired them if the man was really their son and whether he was really born blind. The parents said that he was an adult and that he can answer for himself. The man who had just received sight was firm on his conviction that Jesus was from God. The Pharisees were angry with him and cast him out.
3. Spiritual Sight
Surrender John 9: 38
Jesus heard that the man who received sight was cast out of the synagogue. Jesus met him and asked if he believed in the Son of God. He had never seen Jesus before so he said, “Who is He that I must believe in Him”? Jesus told him that it was He who was talking with him. Immediately he said that he believed, and he worshipped Jesus. That day the blind man received physical sight, he received logical sight, and he received spiritual sight. He became a transformed person. The Lord worked marvellous things in his life.
Our Lord is the same yesterday today and forever. He will work wonderful things for us if we are willing to receive His blessings. Amen
