Pastoral Epistle – November 11, 2021

Posted on: November 13th, 2021 by St. Bede Anglican Church

Dear Congregation,
Greetings in Jesus!

My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of the LORD. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Psalms‬ ‭84:2

This is a deep expression of David when he was hiding from king Saul.  He was longing to be in the courts of the Lord.  It has such a relevance to our situation.  We were not able to enter the sanctuary of the Lord for a long time.  Now we are able to worship the Lord in His sanctuary.
We must long to be in the house of God to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

I am immensely thankful for our Thanksgiving Service and our Harvest Festival.  Thanks to everyone who gave your time, talent and treasure for the glory of God.

Welcome to our new parishioners who have chosen to worship at St. Bede’s.

Today marks the 102nd  Remembrance day in Canada. Remembrance Day or Armistice Day was inaugurated on November 11, 1919 at 11.00am all over Canada to remember over 60,000 soldiers who died and several thousands who were wounded during the First World War.  Today we include all of our men and women who have served in various parts of the world and have laid down their lives to protect the solidarity of our great nation Canada. We also salute all our soldiers on duty in our army, navy and air forces.
This Sunday we will observe Remembrance Sunday.  Let us remember those who laid down their lives to protect our nation.
