From the Pastor: A look at what’s happening at St. Bede’s

Posted on: October 4th, 2019 by St. Bede Anglican Church

Meet this weekend’s guest preacher, learn how we’re helping in the event of a teachers’ strike and upcoming outreach activities including our Harvest Festival:

This coming Sunday we will be welcoming Peter Misiaszek, Director of Stewardship Development, to join us as our preacher.

At the Diocese, Peter is responsible for all aspects of revenue development including the support of volunteer boards and committees.

Peter also developed “Growing Healthy Stewards,” a comprehensive and innovative approach to year-round stewardship education that is coached, collaborative in its development and measureable. Let’s give him a warm welcome.

Let’s give Peter a warm welcome on Sunday.

We are praying for a resolution in regards to the contract negotiations with the school boards but as you are aware next week if needed we will be opening our doors to children who might need a place to be during the week.

That is not the only community outreach we hope to do this fall – as we have not one but two opportunities present to us on Saturday Oct. 26th.
During the day on Saturday October 26th from 10am to 2pm at Dawes Road Crossing, St. Bede’s will be joining with other churches in the area to host a fall fun fair and  thanks day to share the love of Jesus with our neighbours.  Each church in teh area will have a table and host an activity. We need volunteers – if you are available please let me know.

In the evening of Oct. 26th – we will be hosting our annual Harvest Festival beginning at 6pm with worship and continuing with food, fellowship and a fundraising auction.  Plenty of food, laughs and great items for purchase!  Speak to the wardens for more information about donations!
In this season of harvest we are blessed with great abundance which we are called on to share.

Thank you for all your gifts you share with the church.
