Pastor’s Message: Introducing our new Children’s Choir and Praise Band

Our kids are lively, fun and loud – so we’ve decided to harness that energy to praise the Lord.  

Under the direction of James Pothirajulu, St. Bede’s is introducing a new praise choir and band.  As part of the renovation of the Sunday school room, the parish purchased a new electric keyboard and drum kit.  We also have a number of smaller hand-held instruments and ukuleles. 

During the coffee hour from 12:15 and 1 pm, while adults mingle – children are invited to the chapel to sing and praise.  Musical techniques such as rhythm, pacing and tune will be shared, along with opportunities to learn and sing new songs. Some individual instructions will be given to our older children and youth who show an aptitude and interest in the instruments. 

This is not professional music instruction but is meant for fun and fellowship and provide practical applications to emerging talents. 
The youth choir band will perform and be featured in services throughout the year.
