The Blessings of Trusting God
Jeremiah 17: 8

In the previous verses we read that anyone who trusts in himself is cursed. Then God reveals the blessedness of trusting in Him.

1.  Assurance
Planted by the waters

God assures us that if we have trusted Him with all our heart, we will be like trees that are planted by the waters. Our trust in God is not only for the few years that we live in this world. We trust God for eternity.  When we put our trust in God, our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.  Whatever situation we are put into, we will live in assurance that God is with us. We will be like a tree that sends its roots deep into the waters. God is the lover of our soul.  For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that who so ever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

2.  Endurance
Will not fear when heat comes

The same verse also says that those who trust in God will not be afraid in the season of drought. The second blessing of trusting God is that when we go through a season of pain and sorrow still we will be like a tree whose leaves are green. We will not be buried under our challenges; on the contrary we will endure hardship and come out stronger. It is blessed to put our trust in God. To trust Him with all our heart even when we go through toughest times.

3.  Abundance
Will not cease from yielding fruit

The last thing that is mentioned in this verse is the blessing of abundance. Those who trust God are blessed with abundance.  We will be like a tree that yields fruit throughout the year.  There is no dry season for those who trust the Lord. They will bear fruit in season and out of season. To show that our God is righteous and that there is no unrighteousness in Him, we will yield fruit even when we are old. Our God who has created the whole universe is mindful of each one of us.  God said that anyone who touches us touches the apple of His eye. We are kept in safety when we trust God. So, we will be fruitful all the days of our life.  Amen
