Pastoral Epistle – September 27, 2023
Beloved Congregation,
Greetings in Jesus!
“Whoever is wise will observe these things, and they will understand the loving kindness of the Lord.” Psalms 107:43
The Word of God calls us to be wise and understand the loving kindness of our Lord. When we face tough situations, it is challenging to understand the love of God; but whoever is wise will know that whatever we are going through; God’s loving kindness is always with us.
Fasting Prayer last Friday was a great blessing. We spent time in God’s presence, seeking His blessings and guidance. We interceded for all our parishioners. Our next Fasting Prayer will be in November. I’ll confirm the date shortly.
We are entering a special month: In October we will begin our Church’s Centenary Celebration. Please remember to pray every day for God’s blessings on all our efforts.
Our Inaugural Celebration is on Saturday the 28th at 5.00 pm. Here is the Centenary Inaugural Celebration Service Live stream Youtube link, https://youtube.com/live/ArhQrWjhTO4
October has five Sundays: Prepare to share a testimony or a song on Sunday, October 29th.
Bible Study on the Pentateuch: We are beginning a special Bible Study on Wednesday the 11th and will continue on every second and fourth Wednesday at 7.30 pm on Zoom. Kindly invite as many friends as possible. I would like to see many being blessed by this Study.
Silent Auction on October 28th: We are planning a Silent auction on our Inaugural Centenary Celebration day. We usually have an auction annually on thanksgiving Sunday. This year we are planning it on this special occasion. Wait for further details from the steering committee.
Anointing ministry has begun: Sister Angela Viji is appointed by the diocese to anoint and pray for our parishioners. At the end of the service she will be available for prayer. Those who need special prayer can go to the altar and receive prayers.
Our Youth are enjoying the fellowship meetings on alternate Sundays led by Christina Nikitha Stanley. She communicates nicely with our youth. Please pray for God’s blessings on her ministry and leadership.
Cast the Net Initiative: Last evening we had a productive meeting with our Diocese along with the Malayalam CSI Church in Toronto. The meeting was productive. Our church representatives came up with some real issues pertaining to worshipping as a church predominantly by South Indian immigrants. Thanks to Tina George for her involvement in the Steering Committee.
