Sunday Sermon Summary – Sept 13 2026
Remain in God’s blessings – Beware of Lies
Exodus 14: 19-31

The Israelites had left Egypt after four hundred and thirty years. They were filled with joy to see the ten plagues that God sent on the Egyptians when they refused to send them. According to God’s command the Israelites took their silver and gold ornaments and left. When Pharaoh and his people realized that they don’t have slaves any more, they decided to go after them and bring them back to serve as slaves. Pharaoh mustered six hundred chariots and all his army and went after the children of Israel.
Presumption Exodus 14: 19

When Pharaoh’s army came into proximity to the Israelites they were struck with fear and were perplexed. They failed to reflect on all the mighty great things God had done for them. They complained against Moses saying that it would have been better for them to be slaves in Egypt. They were petrified because they saw the enemy as strong and invincible. They failed to see God as all powerful. We must not be deceived when our challenges look fierce. We must look at Jesus alone who will fight our battles. When the enemy comes like a flood the spirit of the Lord will lift up a banner against him. The Lord has a purpose when He allows challenges in our lives.
Predestination Exodus 14:23

God had a great plan for the children of Israel; but they were talking about being slaves again. 1 Corinthians 10:4 says that all the Israelites were baptized in the Red Sea when God brought them through it. Even when we fail in our calling and commitment, the Lord shows mercy in making something new out of us. God commanded the prophet Jeremiah to go to the potter’s house to learn an important lesson. Jeremiah saw that the potter was making a beautiful vessel out of the clay, but suddenly it was marred in his hands. Then the potter fashioned it into another vessel as seemed good to him. Our Lord will make something good out of us even when we miss His original plan.
Protection Exodus 14:25

Our Lord is ever mindful of us. We are precious to Him. We must always trust in His protection. In Exodus 14:14 the Bible says that the Lord will battle for us; we must just hold our peace. As God’s people we must grow more and more into relaxing in God’s hands. Our God is so great, so strong and so mighty; there’s nothing our God cannot do. The mountains are His, the rivers are His; the stars are His handy work too. He has numbered the stars and He calls them by name. He has numbered every hair on our heads. The Lord caused the whole army of the Egyptians to be drowned in the Red Sea. They were defeated and were destroyed.

Let us trust in our Lord and live in His blessings. We will never trust the lies of the enemy. Amen
